By Anita Ortega

Doing something new to our homes sometimes make it worth staying home. We love redesigning and transferring things to different places to make it look new all the time. We always love it when guests or visitors love how cozy and inviting our home is. We surely love sharing decorating ideas like were professionals even when we are not.

One of the best thing to do is redecorating our homes. From changing the curtains to painting the walls. As much as possible, we want everything to be new to the eyes of the people. But, there is one thing that we often do not mind changing. That is the floor. You might just think that it is not needed since anyway, it will only be stepped onto by everyone. You must change that mind set. There is a way for you to get even more appreciations with epoxy pebblestone.

This kind of floor will absolutely take away your frustration over stained and old looking flooring. What is more exciting about it is that, it is very to install. Doing it yourself will surely excite you more. There is always a different feeling when you were able to do things on your own.

First, make sure that your floor is clean. Sweep all kinds of dirt and debris with a broom and mop the surface with a neutral cleaner. Wait till the floor is dry. The reason for this is that, if the floor is dirty, chances are the pebbles will not stick firmly and will easily be detached.

You need to properly check if your floor has any cracks. Repair each crack you see using 2 epoxy primers which are properly mixed. If you have a wooden one, use a wooden putty to fix it. If your floor is cement you may use repair sealant injected to the the cracks. Make sure that you were able to mix it properly so you can get the best result.

Since you are done with cleaning and repairing, get your epoxy. Take a big bucket where you can mix it without spilling. Make sure that you already have 2 epoxy primer. Whenever you buy things like that, there is always a list of instructions from the manufacturer which you should follow. Read the steps properly and o everything perfectly as much as possible.

Now, pour the mixture to your desired area. If you have a paint roller you may use it so you can have an even amount of mixture in each part. One half gallon of this will be able to cover a 100 feet floor. Wait for an hour for it to dry.

Then, get your 2 epoxy resins and pebbles. One set of it is best for 100 pounds of stones. After mixing everything, immediately pour it all over your desired place. Use a trowel you have equally divided layers of stones.

Check the work you have done after 24 hours. It is normal that there are some loose pebbles. You may simply sweep them but never throw it. You can use those loose stones on your next batch of pebble flooring. After you have taken the loosed ones, you can brush it with varnish so it will look shiny and will not hurt even if you step on it barefooted.
