How To Choose Fantasy Landscape Photos

By Linda Cantrell

The fantasy genre can be a very immersive one. Whether it is a book, a television series or a multiplayer online role playing game people often find themselves becoming obsessed with those worlds. If you love fantasy or know somebody that does then fantasy landscape photos can be a fantastic purchase.

The types of landscapes can vary wildly. They can include dark and frightening caverns. These often use frightening detail to capture the vastness and depth of the cavern, making it seem especially frightening. A talented artist can use software to take existing images and twist them into something truly scary that will stay with people long after they have seen the image.

By contrast there are also images that utilise light. For example there are fairy kingdoms that tend to use white and glowing crystals. This results in wonderful reflections. These often look very attractive on a photo and will often stand out. While fairies are often associated with children it can be surprising how clear and realistic this kind of picture can appear to be.

This is something that people may not necessarily be aware of this. They may associate the genre with fairy tales and consider it to be childish. However there are a number of artists that work in this genre that create images that are very stunning and can be works of art in and of themselves.

Typical images people tend to think of are floating castles or iconic and grand statues and sculptures that could not possibly exist in real life or alternatively would be so difficult to create that people would not put the effort into building them. It is also possible to use lighting effects to create stylistic choices that people would not be able to do with photos of images in real life.

A lot of these images come from books, television series and so forth. Some such as the locations used in the film adaptation of Lord of the Rings take real life landscapes and add extra computer effects in order to further cement a grand and epic backdrop. Indeed many places have had a boost in tourism based on these fantastical additions to the real world due to fans wanting to visit the locations in person.

In other cases it is more about looking online and checking the images. There are a wide array of places you could get them. They can be found in art stores, galleries and on websites. If you attend conventions the artists will often sell themselves and may even be willing to sign them for you!

You can find a number of artists and companies selling their photos online. It is worth using the image section of a search engine so you can look at the pictures that personally appeal to you. You can then find who made those pictures and find out how much they cost and where to get them from. It is also worth going online and talking to fellow fantasy enthusiasts to find out the artists that they personally like. You never know you may get introduced to a new favourite!
