Gender Neutral Baby Bedding And Baby Boy Bedding Sets

By Darren Hartley

A nursery that works for either a boy or a girl must be designed by parents who have no plans of knowing the gender of their baby before its actual arrival. After picking up a theme and color palette for the nursery, they can proceed to the choosing of furniture and accessories, inclusive of gender neutral baby bedding, to match the chosen theme and color palette.

The objectives for the nursery theme selection revolve around cohesiveness and completeness. Animals, sea life and the alphabet are good theme choices for a gender neutral nursery. The color-anchored gender neutral baby bedding should project images associated with the selected theme.

The theme can also be anchored around a color, such as yellow, gray or green. Shades of red or orange will give the room a bolder look. In this case, the gender neutral baby bedding should come in shades of the color on which the theme is anchored.

To keep the baby safe and comfortable in his nursery, the right baby boy bedding sets must be chosen, assuming that the baby turns out to be a boy. Babies do not have the ability for body temperature regulation. Because of this, parents should make sure their baby is not too hot and not too cold during the times he spends sleeping in his crib.

Between 16C and 20C is the ideal room temperature for a baby. A male baby boy should be in baby boy bedding sets that include a cotton sleep suit or a cotton vest in higher temperatures and in cotton flannel sheets, on top of which is another sheet and a cotton cellular blanket layer in lower temperatures.

For male babies less than a year, pillows, quilts or duvets must not be part of their baby boy bedding sets. Their heads must always be left uncovered. The baby must be placed feet to foot in his cot, i.e., his feet must be at the foot of the cot.
