Quilt Baby Patterns And Crochet Baby Blanket

By Darren Hartley

Having his own quilt or blanket is a privilege every baby deserves. Made from baby quilt patterns, it is great to be taken with the baby as he goes travelling or visiting another house. It can double up as a blanket and as a clean rug where he can lie or crawl around on.

First and foremost, a baby quilt should be made of natural fibers and baby quilt patterns. It should also be a little bit bigger than the crib or bassinet so the baby could be tucked in it safely and securely. Furthermore, a baby could be wrapped in a bigger quilt when the climate gets cold.

When designing a baby quilt, thought must be given to the color and baby quilt patterns to be used. When choosing colors to mix together in the quilt, it is best to remember that the quilt will be used a lot and get very dirty at countless times. This would require the quilt to be washed very often if not daily.

A crochet baby blanket can become a showstopper with the use of a multicoloured skein of yarn. The first step in crocheting in technicolor is finding the perfect pattern for variegated yarn. This step can go either way. It can be hard and give a what-do-i-make-now moment to the prospective crafter. It can be made easy by following a few simple tips in finding the appropriate yarn muse.

As long as it is for a crochet baby blanket, there are no downsides to the use of multicoloured yarn. Other than the freedom it affords a crafter in adding multiple colors in her work without the need of weaving in more ends than necessary, its bright variegations spell fun in child-sized garments.

The color changes in a crochet baby blanket made out of multicoloured yarn can go either way. Some variegated yarns have very long color changes that last for yards and yards. There are others that have extremely short color changes that are only inches in length. The best road to take is unhanking the skein before starting the project. This would give an idea of how the color changes will be like in the finished product.
