Watching Television This Year? What You Shouldn't Miss...

By Christopher Moon

2013 has witnessed a lot of great television shows but there are some that have stood out a lot more than others. According to popularity, we were able to grab the best six, starting with Game of Thrones. It is a HBO television show that's set on a fictional continent that's the home of 7 kingdoms. With the leaders of each of these kingdoms embroiled in a civil war for the iron throne, the show brings out issues about faith, loyalty, sexuality and much more.

Your second top show is Breaking Bad. Walter White is a chemistry teacher in a quiet town in Texas when he discovers that he has cancer, but he also discovers that he makes the purest meth seen in those parts. He takes up with Jesse Pinkman who has connections in the meth underworld to help them distribute. Can Walter handle the pressure of getting into a completely unfamiliar criminal world? Just how long can he hide his secret from his wife along with the rest of the world?

Dexter also continues to draw excellent ratings every week. He's a cop in an LA precinct who has given himself a job description in addition to what is required in the team; he is a self-appointed vigilante and his target is serial killers. Just how long can he continue before he is discovered for his murders? And just what happens if they find him out? After all, he only kills serial killers.

Based on Sara Shepard's books, Pretty Little Liars tells the tale of a band of teenagers who are being threatened by someone mysterious, all after one of their very own vanishes. This show has audiences hooked.

If you happen to be into a little history from the 60s, you will love Mad Men. It is based on the advertising industry in those years and you get to meet guys that think the entire world belongs to them and ladies who know that their place in the workplace is to be an assistant. One, Peggy Olsen, refuses to be put in her place and challenges men to rise in her career.

Finally, you simply can't miss Parks and Recreation. This hilarious show follows Leslie Knope, Assistant Director of the Pawnee Parks and Recreation Department, as she endeavors to blend her unbridled passion for the department with her less than ambitious boss and co-workers.

If you havemissed 2013 television, watch these shows and you'll be all caught up.
