The Best Wedding Venues In Maui

By Ella Hemmings

Maui is a romantic, mystical destination with warm sea breezes, vivid sunsets and spectacular scenery. The beauty of Maui draws many couples to its shores each year for romantic destination weddings, and if you are searching for the perfect spot for your nuptials, there are few places on earth that can compete with Maui. This special island offers an abundance of idyllic locations for your wedding, whether it is big or small. Here is a sample of some of the most romantic spots.

If you need to accommodate a large party of guests, it might be best to consider hosting a wedding at a plantation, a Maui resort or perhaps at another location that can accommodate a larger number of guests. For instance, the Maui Tropical Plantation is an excellent venue, and the grounds are stunning. The Garden Gazebo is often the site of weddings, and this structure overlooks the emerald lagoon. The plantation is equipped to accommodate very large weddings for both the ceremony and the reception.

One of the wonderful things about a Maui wedding is that even if you head up into the hills, you can still enjoy views of the sea at your event. The Kula Botanical Garden, for instance is located at 3,300 feet near a volcano. There are six acres with plenty of romantic spots for your ceremony, from an intimate gazebo to a large lawn which is large enough for up to 150 guests. If you have 25 guests or less, you also might think about The Cliff House which looks out to Namalu Bay. This is a historic site, built in 1940, and it is an excellent spot for a small wedding and even a small reception.

While large wedding parties are better suited to resorts and other venues that can host many people, a beach wedding is an ideal choice for couples that have just a few close friends and family along for the ceremony. There are many excellent choices for a couple that wishes to be married right on the sand, and you can even create a ceremony that includes Hawaiian music, a Hawaiian drummer or perhaps a hula dancer to truly create that perfect Hawaiian ambiance.

The biggest obstacle you have to overcome is choosing on which amazing beach you wish to hold the ceremony. For a private, intimate vow ceremony, consider the secluded Makena Cove or perhaps opt for a sunset ceremony at Po'olenalena Beach. Napili Bay is yet another option that is typically quiet and less crowded than many Maui beaches. Other choices include Honomanu Bay or Ironwoods Beach, both of which have their own unique scenery. Honomanu Bay is surrounded by a variety of lush greenery, while Ironwoods offers a long quarter-mile pristine beach with sparkling waters.

A destination wedding is definitely a memorable event, but it can be a bit tricky to plan, especially if you know little about Maui in general. Rather than spend a lot of time trying to figure out how to accomplish all of the planning on your own, it is a great idea to choose a wedding planning company such as LoveMauiWeddings.com. The owners started the company more than two decades ago, so they and the staff are experts at finding locations, reserving the services of an officiant, finding a great florist, planning excursions and helping with all of the details that accompany a wedding of any size.
